Pet Limit Regulations Effective July 1, 2009
On July 1, 2009, new pet limit regulations will become effective. No more than two dogs or a combination of three cats and dogs will be allowed per residence. Residents who currently have more animals can apply for a "no fee" exception permit.

Mandatory Spay-Neutering of Dogs and Cats
Update
At its April 15, 2009 meeting, the City Council approved first reading of an ordinance that establishes modified mandatory spay-neutering regulations for cats and dogs. This matter will come back for formal approval by the Council in May. Click on the story for a summary of these regulations.

The City of Laguna Woods contracts with the Laguna Beach Animal Shelter for services. Resdients who find or are looking for a lost pet, should contact the shelter at 20612 Laguna Canyon Road Laguna Beach, CA 92651. Phone: (949) 497-3552. Public Safety

The Public Safety Departent contains the police, fire and animal control services functions. This department also oversees the City's emergency service and disatser prepardness programs. City police services are provided by the Orange County Sheriff's Department; fire services by the Orange County Fire Authority; and animal control and shelters services by the City of Laguna Beach.
