AGENDA DESCRIPTION: The Agenda descriptions are intended to give notice, to members of the public, of a general summary of items of business to be transacted or discussed. 

 

Any person wishing to address the Water Quality Committee on any matter, whether or not it appears on this agenda, may do so under the appropriate section of the agenda.  Whenever possible, lengthy testimony should be presented to the Committee in writing (12 copies) and only pertinent points presented orally.  Requests to speak to items on the agenda shall be heard at the appropriate point on the agenda; requests to speak about subjects not on the agenda will be heard during the Public Comment section of the meeting.

A. El Toro Water District Open House

 

The Committee will discuss the City’s participation in the El Toro Water District’s Open House including outreach goals and objectives.

 

Recommended Action: Provide recommendations for education and outreach materials.

 

B. Inner Coastal Cleanup Day 2006

 

The 10th Annual Inner Coastal Cleanup Day is scheduled for September 16, 2006. The Committee will discuss the City’s participation in the cleanup day event including potential event locations, partnering opportunities with other agencies or groups, event goals and coordination issues.

 

Recommended Action: Provide recommendations to staff for participation in the Inner Coastal Cleanup Day event.

 

C. Water Conservation Tips Update

 

The subcommittee will provide a summary of the Water Conservation Tips outreach efforts to date and discuss the future direction of the program.

 

Recommended Action: Provide recommendations for the continued use and development of the conservation tip outreach program.

 

D. Water Conservation Survey

 

The Committee will discuss the format and intent of the Gate 11 area water conservation study and survey and consider the possibility of conducting an additional Citywide stormwater survey.

 

Recommended Action: Provide recommendations to the subcommittee to help refine the survey and implement the study.
