AGENDA DESCRIPTION: The Agenda descriptions are intended to give notice, to members of the public, of a general summary of items of business to be transacted or discussed. 

Any person wishing to address the Community Services Committee on any matter, whether or not it appears on this agenda, may do so under the appropriate section of the agenda.   Whenever possible, lengthy testimony should be presented to the Committee in writing (12 copies) and only pertinent points presented orally.  Requests to speak to items on the agenda shall be heard at the appropriate point on the agenda; requests to speak about subjects not on the agenda will be heard during the Public Comment section of the meeting.

Community Services Programs and Trips for FY 2005-2006

RECOMMENDED ACTION: Review the following trips and programs, and tentatively set dates.

Bus Trips

* Bus trip: Disney Concert Hall and Cathedral of the Angels Scheduled for July 28, 2005

* Bus Trip: Old Town Music Hall in El Segundo

Tentatively schedule date in January 2006 for the trip

* Bus Trip: San Diego Historical Sites

Tentatively schedule date in April 2006 and consider potential historical sites to visit.

Sunday Movie Matinee

* August 2005 Sunday Movie Matinee

Tentatively select a Sunday in August and consider a movie for the matinee.

* November 2005 Sunday Movie Matinee

Tentatively select a Sunday in November and consider a movie for the matinee.

* March 2006 Sunday Movie Matinee

Tentatively select a Sunday in March and consider a movie at a later date based on current or previously nominated Academy Awards movies.

Social Services Program

* How to be Alone and Not Lonely

Tentatively select a date in December 2005 and discuss format and potential speakers

* Update on Health Fair

Pet Fair

* Tentatively select a date in June for this program and consider a location for the event.
