Public Works
The Public Works Department includes the engineering, public construction management, public works inspection, public facility and landscape maintenance, and environmental program (air, noise, solid waste, electricity conservation) compliance functions.
The Public Works Department investigates and resolves citizen inquiries related to grading and slope erosion, circulation, traffic safety devices and street maintenance; researches and administers contracts for maintenance, public works professional services (architecture, design, analysis) and public construction; analyzes development applications to determine public works and transportation impacts; issues encroachment and transportation permits; and provides public works inspections.
