The recap of the September 3rd meeting is attached for the review and approval of the committee.
IV. PRESENTATION
No presentations are scheduled for this meeting. Committee Members to discuss scheduling future presentations by members from other City Human Relations Committees or other Human Relations Organizations.
Proposed Action: Discuss the potential for future presentations from members of other Human Relations Organizations or Committees.
V. COMMITTEE BUSINESS
A. Hate Crime Brochure
Proposed Action: Review, comment and finalize the hate crime brochure and determine number to be printed, costs and method of distribution.
B. Future Committee Sponsored Programs, Trips and Events During FY 2002-2003
Potential Future Trips
Committee members to discuss the planning and scheduling of future bus trips to Japanese, African-American, American Indian, and Mexican cultural facilities located in Los Angeles and Orange Counties.
Proposed Action: Select the cultural facilities and potential dates for the bus trips to these facilities. Assign committee members to research additional information on the selected cultural groups.
Future Programs
Review the dates and times for airing the April 18th Holocaust
Remembrance Day Event on the cable system's government channel 31.
Proposed Action: Discuss and assign committee members to draft press releases and flyers on the dates the program will be aired on the government channel.
December 10, 2002 - Human Rights Day
Committee members to discuss sponsoring a program with a guest speaker and invite the Presidents of the Cultural Clubs to attend.
Proposed Action: Discuss the selection of a guest speaker and assign committee members to promotion and other related duties for scheduling and sponsoring this type of an event.
