Government Official Ticket/Pass Distribution
Gifts to public officials must be reported as income or in annual FPPC financial reports. In lieu of individual reporting, public agencies may adopt a "ticket distribution policy", which governs the distribution of tickets and passes provided to the agency instead of individual officials. To be exempt from gift or income reporting requirements, the attendance at such events must meet a public purpose test.
