Fire Zone Map

The fire severity zone map identifies three zones - very high, high and moderate. The City is required to establish construction standards and materials for new construction in the high severity zone. OCFA and City staff are recommending that the City also establish standards for the high and moderate zones and that some of the standards apply to renovations to existing construction.

The City held a public hearing at its January 18, 2012 meeting; following that, the Council adopted the very high severity zone map and approved first reading of an ordinace that would establish the high and moderate fire hazards severity zone maps and methods and materials standards for new comnstruction and building modifications in all three hazard zones. There were no requests to speak during the public hearing. The maps and construction standards for the high and moderate zones were adopted on February 15, 2012.

Click here for a copy of the fire severity zone map.    The pink area on the map is the very high zone; the orange area, the high zone; and the yellow area, the moderate zone.
